Did you hear what happened to the blind carpenter?
↓Answer at the bottom↓
Hello Team Scherrer,
One of the most important things to remember is that we are a team—through and through. Every person at Scherrer plays a vital role in our success, but we’re strongest when we work together and understand how our roles connect.
It’s easy to see the teamwork happening on our project sites, where PMs, PCs, and superintendents stay in constant communication to keep things moving forward. But behind every successful project are the contributions of many others: our accounting team managing billings and payroll, our estimating team is continually bidding and budgeting jobs, and our business development and marketing teams finding new opportunities and helping to build relationships. Every department is part of the game plan—and no single group can win on its own.
A good team knows the playbook and trusts that everyone is doing their part. A quarterback doesn’t just throw the ball blindly—he trusts the receiver will be where they’re supposed to be. Similarly, when we understand how each part of the company operates, we become better teammates and deliver better results.
That’s the goal behind our Construction 101 series: helping all of us get a better understanding of each other’s roles, challenges, and contributions. The more we learn about what our coworkers do, the better we can support one another.
Next time you reach out to a teammate for help, consider what you can provide to make their job easier—whether that’s background context, complete files, or just a heads-up on timing. And when you’re the one receiving a request, take a moment to see it from their side. We’re all working toward the same end zone: delivering quality work and growing our company together.
On a related note, mid-year check-ins are coming up. This is a great time to revisit the goals you set earlier in the year and reflect on your progress. We want every member of Team Scherrer to not only contribute to the company’s success but also feel proud of their own growth.
Thanks for all that you do. Let’s keep pushing forward—together.
All the best,
Ben Templin
Welcome to Team Scherrer!
Please help us in welcoming Jakub Jantczak, Mike Weiland, and Steve Watters!

Mike Weiland
With nearly 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Mike will be an incredible asset to our team. He has worked on projects across a variety of industries including healthcare, industrial, municipal and educational. We are thrilled to have Mike on our team and can't wait for him to continue his career with Scherrer!
Steve Watters
Steve joins Scherrer with over 40 years of construction experience. He started his career in LA where he was a framer and later gained his General Building License to start his own Finish Carpentry and Millworks company. Steve has done work in Beverly Hills, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, and Beaver Creek! Scherrer welcomes him in as a hybrid Residential Project Manager and superintendent.
Congratulations to Kobby Adu-Boahen on his promotion!
We are proud to see Kobby moving up to an Assistant Project Manager!
