POSITION SCOPE

Scherrer Construction in Wausau, WI is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our growing commercial construction divisions. This position plays a key role in ensuring projects run smoothly by providing administrative support to project managers, superintendents, and the construction team. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and serving as a central point of communication for project documentation and office operations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet clients, vendors, subcontractors, and visitors
     
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail
     
  • Order and maintain office supplies and equipment
     
  • Schedule meetings and conference rooms
     
  • Maintain company records and filing systems
     
  • Assist with company events and employee activities
     
  • Set up and maintain project files
     
  • Support project managers and superintendents with administrative tasks
     
  • Follow up on outstanding items and deadlines

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
     
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
     
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work independently.
     
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and support a collaborative team environment.
     
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams).
     
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and team members.
     
  • Prior administrative, office support, or construction industry experience preferred.
     
  • Must be a dependable and committed team player.
     
  • Experience with construction management software such as Procore is preferred but not required.
