POSITION SCOPE

Scherrer Project Engineers focus on engineering details, blueprints and building materials. They will participate in a variety of activities including project workflow, jobsite safety and projectcloseout.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verify that building materials meet engineering specifications.
• Assist PM/Estimating with:
  • Estimating/bidding 
  • Buyout and scoping of subcontractors and vendors 
  • Writing subcontracts 
  • Obtaining permits 
• Maintain good relations with the project team, including Owner, Project Manager, Estimator, Project Coordinator, Superintendent, and Subcontractors.
   
• Assist in project quality and control
• Participate in jobsite safety including meetings, walks, and other related activities.
• Assist PM/Superintendent with issue resolution
• Professionally represent Scherrer Construction team and brand

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred. 
• 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry preferred.  
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
• Possess understanding of construction terminology, processes, materials, and workflow.
• A general understanding of construction methods. 
• Detail-oriented and task-focused.  
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, associates, vendors, contractors, consultants, and clients. 
• Computer proficiency using industry-standard software and applications.
• Must be a committed team player.
