POSITION SCOPE
Scherrer Project Engineers focus on engineering details, blueprints and building materials. They will participate in a variety of activities including project workflow, jobsite safety and projectcloseout.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify that building materials meet engineering specifications.
- Assist PM/Estimating with:
- Estimating/bidding
- Buyout and scoping of subcontractors and vendors
- Writing subcontracts
- Obtaining permits

Maintain good relations with the project team, including Owner, Project Manager, Estimator, Project Coordinator, Superintendent, and Subcontractors.
- Assist in project quality and control
- Participate in jobsite safety including meetings, walks, and other related activities.
- Assist PM/Superintendent with issue resolution
- Professionally represent Scherrer Construction team and brand
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Possess understanding of construction terminology, processes, materials, and workflow.
- A general understanding of construction methods.
- Detail-oriented and task-focused.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, associates, vendors, contractors, consultants, and clients.
- Computer proficiency using industry-standard software and applications.
- Must be a committed team player.
